It is very unusual to find an eighteenth century undecorated coral bottle mostly because the material is often naturally flawed lending itself to the subsequent carving of the surface. Whilst this example has some small natural flaws its external surface is even and attractively dappled, allowing the bottle to be appreciated in its simplicity.
