Towards the end of the nineteenth century with production up and running again in Jingde Zhen, many bottles were produced from standard molds for the snuff taking public. The success in production of a porcelain bottle such as this depended on how crisp the molding was, how fine the detailed carving was and how translucent and smooth the glaze lay over the body of the bottle. In all of these respects this bottle succeeds admirably making it one of the finest of its group.
