BISCUIT WITH CRANE CHEN GUOZHI

A biscuit porcelain snuff bottle, of slender ovoid form tapering to its elongated neck, the design applied and carved in relief with a continuous scene of a stooping crane standing on the curving trunk of a gnarled pine tree, the legs and beak of the crane highlighted with black enamel, the details on its body finely incised; the base incised Chen Guozhi zuo “Made by Chen Guozhi”.

Attributed to Jingde Zhen.
